Repairs, renovations underway at Rochester Hills parish

Parishioners at St. Irenaeus in Rochester Hills have recently witnessed repairs to the exterior of their 32 year-old church building while a new energy-efficient furnace is providing interior comfort in time for the colder months ahead. Nearly 600 parish households have pledged more than $1.1 million to fulfill those and future projects, surpassing the $900,000 parish goal.

Northville parish doubles campaign goal; transforms church building

A year after the start of Changing Lives Together at Our Lady of Victory parish in Northville, parishioners have pledged more than twice the parish goal and have fulfilled almost half the pledges made. Construction work to transform the church worship space started in June and completion is expected before the holidays. The school gym has been pressed into service for parish Masses as work on the church building progresses. The church was completely gutted over the summer, followed by the installation of a new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system as well as new lighting. New pews and kneelers will replace chairs and the tabernacle will be relocated to the altar area.

Farmington parish completes second round of campaign-funded improvements

Thanks to parishioner contributions to the Changing Lives Together initiative at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Farmington, 117 new windows and 18 doors were installed at Our Lady of Sorrows School in time for the start of classes this fall, completing the first phase of a renovation project to continue next summer.

Hundreds gather on September 29 in a Cathedral Mass of rejoicing for success of Changing Lives Together

On September 29, Detroit Archbishop Allen Vigneron was joined Bishops Michael Byrnes, Arturo Cepeda, dozens of pastors, and more than 400 lay faithful in a Cathedral Mass of Thanksgiving for Changing Lives Together at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Detroit. Those attending the Mass were parish leaders in the archdiocesan-wide capital stewardship initiative through which nearly 72,000 Catholic households in southeast Michigan have pledged almost $109 million.
