“I will give you Shepherds”

Our Catholic faith gives us the sure and certain hope that God, in his loving kindness, is always there to strengthen us to do his will. We truly are God’s coworkers.
Strong parishes make for a strong Archdiocese. Each parish is inextricably linked to every other parish in the Archdiocese of Detroit. Every parish has unique gifts to offer in support of our shared mission.
Catholic schools integrate our faith and Gospel values into every part of the educational experience, whether a student is in the classroom, on the athletic field, or in the chapel. Our Catholic school students learn to think and act according to the mind and heart of Jesus Christ.
Catholic schools educate the whole student – mind, body and soul. Through a solid academic core, a variety of extracurricular offerings and opportunities to worship and practice the Catholic faith, students receive the tools to build a strong foundation for life, enabling them to become contributing members of their community and to the Church.
We will maintain a presence and Christian witness in the City of Detroit and other resource-poor areas of the Archdiocese.
In his 1992 apostolic exhortation I Will Give You Shepherds, Pope John Paul II reminded us that the education and formation of our priests is “considered by the Church one of the most demanding and important tasks for the future of the evangelization of humanity.”
Sacred Heart Major Seminary will continue to be the premier seminary in the United States, dedicated to training the priests, deacons, and lay leaders who will bring our Lord’s message of hope and forgiveness to our parishes, our families, and future generations.
By strengthening our parishes, our priests, our ministries in the City, our schools, and our future lay and ordained leaders, we will be Changing Lives Together.

Changing Lives Together is about creating a stronger future for the Catholic Church in Southeast Michigan and our collective ability to do God’s work. Get Involved…
